Increase in Wage
Helps Everyone
As a veteran business and cooperative education teacher of
over 30 years and a lifelong resident of
The Living Wage has been great for working families,
particularly our youth. It allows students to contribute to family households,
provides more time for study and gives a financial avenue to further education.
Our youth are our future. Let's invest more than poverty wages.
I commend our city officials who have signed on to an
amendment to the living wage ordinance universalizing coverage with cost of
living increases. I encourage them continue to invest in our youth by removing
all exemptions from this ordinance. Education is a community affair.
