Increase in Wage
    Helps Everyone

As a veteran business and cooperative education teacher of over 30 years and a lifelong resident of
Santa Fe, I have first-hand experience with youth in the workforce. Some topics covered in my class were: business management, computer skills, good work ethics and labor laws. I placed many students in jobs in this community through this program.
The Living Wage has been great for working families, particularly our youth. It allows students to contribute to family households, provides more time for study and gives a financial avenue to further education. Our youth are our future. Let's invest more than poverty wages.
I commend our city officials who have signed on to an amendment to the living wage ordinance universalizing coverage with cost of living increases. I encourage them continue to invest in our youth by removing all exemptions from this ordinance. Education is a community affair.
